Parts Required For Normal Services

  Last Updated 25 November 1999

If you want to preserve your perfect service history, you should ignore this page and let your Lotus Carlton approved main dealer supply your parts. If you are fed up with paying their prices or labour rates, and want to do the work yourself, then this is for you. The prices I quote are those I was charged by Vauxhall last time I bought them in July 1999. Some of the parts, especially the oils, are available elsewhere at much lower prices.

Engine Oil. P/n 90393471 This should be Elf Competition 20W50, and nothing else will do. The last time I bought some it was £3.40 a litre, and you need 8 litres to be safe. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a supplier for this other than Vauxhall, but since it isn't that expensive, it's probably not worth looking elsewhere anyway.

Oil Filter. P/n 25011122. costs about £20

Air Filter P/n 25062406 costs about £20

Fuel Filter P/n 90393166 costs about £25

Charge Cooler Water Impeller P/n 90393267 costs about £30

Gearbox Oil P/n 90393527 costs £15 per litre, three liters required. This oil is actually ordinary Castrol RS 10W60 synthetic engine oil, and its a lot cheaper to buy it elsewhere. A 4 litre can from Halfords is a hell of a lot cheaper than 3 single litre bottles from Vauxhall.

Rear Differential Oil P/n 90393473 costs about £20 per litre, two litres required. This oil is actually Mobil Mobilube SH C 80W140 ID, and so it is probably available elsewhere.

Spark Plugs P/n 90393137 cost about £2 each, and six are required. These are NGK BK 6 E, which are probably available elsewhere.
